At MPL we believe learning should be an engaging and rewarding experience for  everyone. Our teaching aims to equip children with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to make informed choices about the important things in their lives and to take responsibility for their own learning. Embedded throughout the curriculum are the four MPL values:

We are kind    We are brave    We are responsible    We are learners

We have worked hard to create an MPL curriculum which follows the National Curriculum at the same time as providing the learning, opportunities and experiences that are particularly pertinent and important to our children.

Core curriculum areas are supported by our thematic approach to the Foundation Subjects. This approach provides a rich menu of exciting and motivating learning activities that make creative links between all aspects of our children's learning. Each unit starts with an 'engage' task designed to excite and enthuse children about the topic to come, and finishes with an 'express' task in which the children are able to showcase and cascade their new knowledge and skills to others.

At MPL we believe in developing in our children a true love of learning and that we are all learners every single day; learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone. Our teaching aims to equip children with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to make informed choices about the important things in their lives and take responsibility for their own learning. We believe that appropriate learning will lead to happy and rewarding lives. Every aspect of our curriculum is underpinned by the five British values of:

Democracy  The Rule of Law  Individual Liberty  Mutual Respect

Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs
