Welcome to the PTA at Mount Pleasant Lane School. As a parent or carer of a child at MPL school you are automatically a member of the PTA. The PTA is here to help raise vital funds for the school to help pay for trips, software, equipment etc. to help enrich the time your child spends at our school. We do this by arranging events such as cake sales, discos, festivals, surprises rooms etc. These events are to raise money, but they also bring our community together, to have fun and meet other parents and children.
As a PTA we always need your help and are very aware of how busy we all are with work, family and general day to day life however, if you can help by giving an hour of your time on a stall at an event or by attending the PTA meetings to offer new ideas, or you can offer to become a committee member no matter how much time you do (or don’t) have we really appreciate any help that you can offer!
Our Current Committee:
Co-Chairs: Katie Holmes and Amanda Mills
Co-Secretaries: Rachel Blomfield and Gemma Murphy
Event ideas for 2020:
We are planning several events for this year, so far our ideas are:
Family bingo night
Surprises rooms - for Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas
Disco - summer and winter terms
Krispy Kreme sale - end of term
If you have any additional ideas please do let us know. We will be getting these events in the diary in the next few weeks, so look out in the school newsletter for forthcoming events.
We are looking to improve the playground facilities this year with the funds raised by the PTA. We are hoping to include a drama area with a stage in the KS2 playground as well as improve seating areas and bring more fun activities and games in for the children. We also want to bring a bus into the playground for reading, colouring, puzzles and play. This will create additional areas for children who want a quieter playtime. We are looking at ways we can utilise the cabin in the playground also.
You can contact the PTA anytime via email: email@example.com, by using the contact form at the bottom of this page or by posting a letter in the PTA box in the school reception area. If you have anything urgent you need to discuss, please speak to the office who can put you in touch with either Katie or Amanda.
Thank you for your continued support and we would love to hear from you regarding any new ideas or helping us to achieve our ambitious plans for the playground area.
