NSPCC World Number Day - Friday 7th February 2020

MPL have been busy raising money for World Number Day today! It has been lovely to see so many innovative and creative costumes in school. Children in EYFS took part in a Number Hunt across the school, while the children in KS1 and KS2 have gone head to head with their teachers in the 'Teachers vs. Pupils' Maths Quiz! Both teachers and pupils found the quiz challenging and it was revealed in assembly this afternoon that the teachers and pupils had come to a draw! An emergency head to head was called between Mrs Redwood and Benji R in Aldenham, to see who could answer the maths question given to them to quickest. Yet again, it was a draw on the first question, but Benji was just able to beat Mrs Redwood on the second question - What is 132? Congratulations to the pupils for their fantastic win this year! I'm sure the teachers will come back fighting next year. Well done to all of the pupil councillors involved in the organisation of the quizzes and the EYFS number hunt. Thank you for your generous donations, we have raising an amazing £462 for the NSPCC and the WWF Australian Bushfire Wildlife Fund!

Children in Need!

On Friday 16th November 2019, the Pupil Councillors helped organize and run a sporting event across to help raise money for Children in Need. During the morning, both KS1 and KS2 took part in the 'Big Movers Morning', and completed a series of exercise videos led by our pupil councillors. As a school, we raised an amazing £577! Well done everyone!

The Pupil Council is made up of Class Councillors from each class in Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2.  Their jobs are to represent the children in their class, bring up any ideas, problems or suggestions and to help us improve the school.

Well done to all the Class Councillors for being elected by their classmates to these very important positions.‚Äč
