Headteacher's Welcome

Headteacher’s Welcome

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to your child and to you. If you haven’t visited our school yet, please do so as I am extremely proud of the children here and the interesting and creative work that they do. I am also proud of the excellent, dedicated team of staff who I am privileged to work with. One of us would be delighted to show you round the school and let the children speak for themselves!

Our aim is to provide your child with the highest possible quality learning that builds on the foundations you have already laid down with them at home.

MPL is a happy, safe and enjoyable place for your child, where he or she will be challenged and motivated to learn. We want children to be excited about learning and we want to work closely with you to make sure that happens. We strive to make sure that your child achieves his or her potential while at MPL and, in addition, to equip them with the skills they need to thrive and enjoy learning throughout their lives.

MPL is a community school that offers a creative education to children of all abilities, in line with the expectations of the National Curriculum. As a community school, we serve every member of the community and we celebrate the diversity that exists amongst our children and families. In our most recent OfSTED inspection (Feb 2015), the school was judged as ‘good’ in all areas. We were pleased and proud of that outcome and are now aiming to become ‘outstanding’ in the near future.

The school is currently in the process of joining the Spiral Multi Academy Trust, based in St Albans. This process should be completed before the end of the 2017-18 academic year and will add to the resources and capacity that we have to provide the very best for your child.

Included in our prospectus is an overview of general information about our school and what your child can expect from their time here. We hope you will find it useful.

We are confident that if you choose MPL, your child’s time with us will be enjoyable and worthwhile. We look forward to working with you over the next few years.

Yours sincerely
